Eligibility & Requirements

We aim to assist those who need it most. Please review our criteria to ensure your pet is eligible for the spay and neuter assistance program.

Owner Eligibility
  • Proof of residency within Oklahoma City and surrounding areas
  • We prioritze those who really need financial assistance
  • Currently fostering an at-risk animal from a local partner shelter
  • Commitment to the full post-surgery recovery protocol
  • A $25 non-refundable appointment fee is required to schedule an appointment."
Pet Requirements
  • Pet must be at least 5 pounds and 8 weeks of age
  • General good health and fit for anesthesia (evaluated at intake)
  • Current on Rabies vaccination (or provided at time of surgery, the cost is on the owner)
  • No known history of severe reactions to elective surgeries

Surgery & Recovery FAQ

What should I do to prepare my dog for surgery?

Do not feed your dog after midnight on the night before surgery. Water is fine until the morning of the appointment. Prepare a quiet, clean area where your dog can recover after surgery.

How long is the recovery period?

Most dogs require 10 days of restricted activity so the incision can heal properly. During this time, avoid strenuous exercise and jumping.

What if I notice a problem with the incision?

Please email contact@4pawssupport.org with attach photos on the incision. Follow up check up shouldered by the owner.
